Rolling Hills Engineering Academy
Education and Experience
My qualifications include 10 years of elementary teaching experience, Masters of Education in Educational Administration, a Bachelor of Science in Accounting, a Texas Principal Certification in Early Childhood through 12th grade, and a Texas Teacher Certification in Early Childhood through 4th grade. Currently, I am a Wipro Science Education Fellow at UNT Dallas; the Wipro Science Education Fellowship (SEF) is a teacher-leadership program funded by the Wipro Organization. The Wipro SEF program is a teacher-leadership program that supports experienced K - 12 science teachers to deepen their practice while staying in the classroom.
I have served Lancaster ISD students since 2011. I started as a second grade teacher. Then moved to teaching third grade Math, Science, and Social Studies. I had the privilege of returning to second grade for another two years. In 2016, I reconnected with third grade Math. Now in year 7 with this district, I have a chance to enjoy teaching 5th grade Science. For the last 10 years, I have been serving young people in Dallas ISD, Gateway Charter Academy, and Lancaster ISD. I’ve served as a member on various committees at the campus, in the community, and at the district level such as an Instructional Resource Guide Writer for Math and Science, Co-leader of the STEM Advisory Committee; and, local area organizations such as the Best Southwest Alliance of Black Educators. My hobbies and interests include cooking, spending time with my family, going to football and basketball games, dancing, and painting portraits.
"If I can change how students believe in themselves, this will impact them to change their behaviors and words; thus, they begin to develop a growth mindset that will change their lives."
